Capturing the ever changing sky and it’s multitude of colors is one of the hardest parts of plein air painting. You are creating a memory of a time and a place but also of the temperature and weather conditions, the direction of the light and its intensity. Sure, you could take a picture–1000 pictures with your smart phone. But it won’t have the same meaning or feel as a painting.
By using color vibrations, you can create compositions that capture the feeling of color, time and place.
